We arrived at the art retreat Thursday from Florence late in the afternoon.
There are 9 of us attending this retreat. 4 from Aus - 5 from UK.
The house overlooks a valley of a gorgeous tapestry of farm land surrounded by mountain ranges.
And it is so quiet here. No traffic no urban city noises. Absolute peaceful & tranquil. Ideal for "sitting & be'ing".
Today, Friday, we begin and our first lesson is still life.
After this we head outside to sketch anything we see for 2 mins & then move on to sketch something different.
Debra is doing extremely well. With her drawings you can tell what they are. Me? Not quite the case.
After a wonderful home cooked lunch we have a break and resume our next lesson @3pm.
A storm is coming across the area. Dark clouds & thunder give a different perspective to the region. And the thunder is the only sound.
The afternoon is drawing with charcoal. Again drawing still life.
The teacher, Caroline, calls out to me "I am going to work on yours Karen! "
"Go for it Caroline!"
She can only improve on it.
