Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We awoke to a cool mountain morning. The chilly temperature suggested that we remain indoors to share our coffee. We even turned the fireplace on to make us all comfy. LOL The solid gray overcast began to leak some light rain but it didn’t last long. Marilyn fixed some delicious French toast for breakfast and then it was time to get started on our last day here at Mountaindale.

I paid the electric bill, changed the fridge from shore power to Inverter power, dumped the tanks and stowed the sewer hose for travel. I changed a hubcap from one wheel to another. (Don’t ask) Later in the day I stowed the two lawn chairs and small metal table in the basement storage bay.

With these chores complete, we are ready for tomorrow morning and the few last minute chores before we leave. I must admit that we are ready to be back in Missouri, close to family. We have medical appointments to take care of and football games to attend. We will also be looking at property for sale while we are there. We still have some fun ahead of us as we plan to stop in Topeka for two nights and will visit with good friends, Tom & Berni as well as John & Lori.

We plan to leave Hannibal in October to travel with friends Denny & Jackie to our winter home in Mission, Texas. That promises to be a fun trip and we look forward to it for sure.

As for now, we joined Mike & Marian for a “Farewell” Happy Hour. Tomorrow we each head in a different direction. The good part is that we will meet again. Life is Good!
