A grand show!

We had reserved this fantastic event on the first opportunity and had included the “Bruce Package” which included dinner with Scotch Whisky pairings. The meal was delicious and even “The Haggis” tasted good. With this package, we skipped the line for the main attraction - “The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.” This commenced at 9PM with a ceremony involving a retired RAF General who actually had a seat right behind us in the place of honor! The Tattoo is an exhibition and performance of precision marching and band playing - very much patriotic in nature. Bands and marchers/dancers from many countries participate. It runs only in August and the profits fro the dale of tickets go to veterans’ care to the tune of millions of British Pounds. The grand finale is sparked off with a fireworks display and the march of all the individual bands and marchers/dancers. A grand piece of showmanship not to be missed if you travel the Edinburgh in August. We saw the second last show for 2018.
