This morning I had my initial visit with my new ophthalmologist, Dr. Daniel Kravitz. My left eye had been bothering me more than usual for several weeks, so I suspected that the virus had become active again. Sure enough, that was the case; so Dr. Kravitz instructed me to take Acyclovir five times per day (instead of the usual twice daily dosage) until my next visit in a month. He will do refraction then, if the virus has settled down.
This afternoon we had a special treat -- a concert by Carl Perry playing about a dozen of his Native American flutes in our multi-purpose room. He owns more than forty flutes of various sizes and types of wood. They all are beautifully made and he is very skilled in playing all of them. He said that, if he and his wife move to CARE, he will teach flute lessons. I volunteered to be his first student.
Lisa Tyler, our Activities Director, had created a slide show from photos of Native American life to add atmosphere to the program. It was very effective. I really enjoyed it all.
