13 August 2018
Made an earlier start today and caught the 9.25 shuttle to the Novena shopping centre and the MRT. Hopped off at Town Hall Station and met Joan Gray and her two sisters Gwen & Chris. So good to see them. The coffee shop we had thought of (from 10 years ago) isn't there any more!! Joan suggested the coffee shop under their accommodation, and there we were for over two hours!! The people were very nice & didn't move us on, and much chatter evolved. We had a quick look at their room, bid our farewells and we headed for Sentosa and the others were off to the Bird Park. The girls cruise out on the Aria on Wednesday night, have several port visits and arrive back home at the end of August. Gwen is off on another cruise just after that, and Chris is off to W.A. with her husband.
We bought a pass at Sentosa for unlimited cable car rides & two other attractions. We chose the Light Show at night & the Tiger Sky Tower. Bit daunted by the height of the cable car, but wasn't a problem and enjoyed our rides, usually just us two to a cabin. Was a good choice to wait for a week day to visit Sentosa with no waiting at any of the attractions. Had two rides on the monorail, one to try it out, and then we used it to get back to the MRT after the night show.
The light show was excellent, and will now have to check out our photos from years ago to see if it is similar. The beach and seating area has not changed, at least we can remember that much. The rest of Sentosa has changed dramatically with lots of extra activities now.
The night show was packed out, but the exit moved quickly & we were on the monorail without delay, back through the Vivo Mall to the MRT and home.
Have found it so easy to use the rail system. Always lots of people, but the trains are so frequent, we can even start complaining if we have a wait time getting near five minutes!
A long, but very enjoyable day.
