apartment blocks were not always pretty....

.....neither were some houses

there was always room for another man on his horse

the girls talked 'bike riding in Mongolia'

free local 'drops' went down well

some fortresses were huge

The drive to Akhaltsikhe was much easier and the roads were dry. A coffee stop along the way provided a very unexpected surprise. A motorbike parked nearby had Australian plates and the rider, a lady, was from Brisbane. It was great to hear a familiar accent. She had been riding for four months through Russia and the Caucuses and was on her way to Italy. Amy was a serious bike rider.

Our hotel was very close to an 18th century fortress which was very convenient for us to visit.
