Herring/Gallo Trip Out West 2018 travel blog

We had decided to spend the final three days of our trip at Mountaindale RV Resort just outside Colorado Springs. This campground is located about 12 miles south of Colorado Springs. It is surrounded by miles of open country and game preserves. From our campsite we saw lots of deer and turkeys and supposedly there were bear and bobcats that came through. Here are a couple pictures Susan took from the campsite.

The people at the campground consist of about 50% long term people and 50% those in for less than a week. We met some really nice people and learned there was a lot to do around the area and we would like to come back next year and stay longer and explore the area. It is a little out of the way, but everyone says there is a lot to do and considering that we saw more wildlife here than Custer State Park, it looks like a winner. On Saturday we set out fore the trek across the US. Neither of us is ready to go home, but I guess we better check on the house and heaven knows Harley needs grooming-- heck so do Susan and I! It has been great sharing the jouney
