We will be on the way to Chicken, Alaska on Friday via the Top of the World Highway, actually a gravel road. It's supposed to be a very senic drive but rough. We will be there for three days with no cell phone or internet access. After that we will be in Alaska for about three weeks and should be able to upload some beautiful pictures of the trip.

On Saturday while at Chicken we drove to Taylor Mountain. It is located a few miles from Chicken and is a little above 5,000' high with a remote radar site for air traffic contron in the area. The road was about 8 miles long and was a one-lane unpaved road. the first seven miles or so was ok but rough where it was steep and had washed ruts from rain. The last couple of miles was above the treeline and very steep and rocky. It was a 1-2 mph climb in four wheel drive but the view from the top was something to behold.
