Red Rock Canyon

The drive from Antelope Canyon to Bryce was really pretty. After crossing the Glen Canyon Dam we traveled through desert and then into some really pretty valleys with large ranches. These ranches are along rivers and streams which they use for irrigation. The fields are really green and they grow lots of grass for hay to feed the cattle and horses in the winter. I understand that they get a lot of snow in this part of Utah. After leaving the valley we headed into Red Rock Canyon, which is just south of Bryce. It is spectacular. It is like driving through the bottom of Bryce.

After driving through Red Rock Canyon we arrived at Ruby's Inn and Campground. It has been around since the formation of Bryce and we had a nice site in the trees near the place where you catch the shuttle into the park. The boys got their bikes off and spent the rest of the afternoon riding around the campground. After dinner we were going to wait for darkness to see the stars. Two problems were it was a full moon and it did not get dark until about 9:15pm and we were all tired. Tomorrow we are going to take the shuttle into Bryce.
