Common hazard on the winding roads

Today was a short drive to the caves at Pech Merle. These are caves in their original condition which are well looked after with limited number of visitors each day. Luckily we had booked our visit before leaving Australia. The guided tour was good but unfortunately in French. It was wonderful to see art work from 25,000 years ago in its original site and condition.

After leaving Pech Merle we had a short drive to Saint Cirq Lapopie which is another medieval town perched on the hillside. The views looking down into the Lot Valley are spectacular. After walking through the village we did a nice boat Cruise on the Lot River. Again the French commentary wasn't much use to us.

We checked into our B&B late this afternoon and enjoyed happy hour in the garden before enjoying a lovely home cooked French dinner on the premises - all very nice
