Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We slept great and awoke this morning to see a wonderful day, perfect for sitting outdoors with our coffee. Still in our pajamas we sat together sipping our coffee, casually waving to people walking by.

We were hesitant to end our reverie until the coffee was long gone and then we enjoyed a lite breakfast of soft boiled eggs and fruit juice.

Later we worked to complete a few chores. I took the trash to the dumpster and visited the office to pick up our receipt for the two overnights here. Marilyn & I drove the truck to fill up with diesel at 2.99 per gallon and then stopped at Walmart where I picked up some anti-freeze to add to the reservoir for the truck.

Back at the RV I did that little chore and we ate some lunch and then remained indoors to escape the temperature which climbed steadily to 93 degrees outdoors. I placed a call to my 94 year old uncle Bill and enjoyed a pleasant conversation as we took a stroll down memory lane. I have written about his WWII experience in my book called “My Journey Through Time”.

We looked forward to meeting our friends Tom & Bernie at a nearby Mexican Restaurant called “El Dorado” where we have shared good food numerous times in the past. It was around 4:00 when we were ready to go. Since we decided not to unhook the car from the RV, we took the truck and drove off to meet our friends. It was a nice reunion and we were delighted to hear that they will be at Mountaindale for one week while we are there.

We parted with shared hugs and headed back to the RV to get some rest. Tomorrow will be a longer day and we plan to stop in Colby, Kansas. Life is Good!
