Street Fight in Deadwood

Am adding a couple of pics from our trip to Mt. Rushmore. The walkway leading up to the viewing terrace was lined with flags from every state. It was pretty breezy that day, but I snapped a pic of the Lone Star State and Sweet Home Alabama flags. Adding the pic of the flag walkway.

On our last day in South Dakota, we headed to the city of Deadwood, where many famous gunslingers lived, where Wild Bill Hickok was shot while playing cards. We watched a reenactment of the shooting in a saloon. We saw another reenactment of a shooting in the streets of Deadwood. There was someone dressed as Calamity Jane. She was a rough character and spun a tale of her life in the Old West. They weren't kidding about the West being wild!!

There were casinos among the restaurants and gift shops all along the wild west streets. I tried my luck on Keno. Left with more than I went in with, that works!!

Tomorrow we head to Nebraska for a 1 nighter, followed by 2 more 1 nighters, one being in Kansas. Then Oklahoma by Sunday, June 10th.

Getting closer to HOUSTON!! Can you be glad and sad at the same time?? Such a great trip, but coming home is good too!!! And we know, God willing, there will be other trips coming up, so it's ALL good!
