Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We faced another busy day for both, Marilyn and myself. Marilyn took the car and headed to Palmyra to watch the grandkids participate in the School Field Day Competition. I was unable to join her as I had a schedule to lead several tours of the Mark Twain Cave.

While Marilyn was having fun in Palmyra I led a third grade class from Macon through the cave. They were a good group of students and I complimented them after the tour.

I had time to take a break and joined several of the staff in the guides lounge to enjoy pizza provided by the management before driving back to the RV. Marilyn had returned home and we chatted for a while before I had to return to the cave to lead another tour group.

This time the tour group was from Milan, Missouri and consisted of sixth grade students. Two adults with their granddaughter joined us as the tour began. I gave the little girl a flashlight to use and that helped her sense of security so that we all had a nice time on the tour. I must admit that I was happy to head home after that tour because I was worn out.

I relaxed and fell asleep several times as the comfort of my recliner overcame any desire I might have had to stay awake. Jennifer and Lauren arrived to visit for a while and we sat outdoors enjoying the nice weather.

Once they left to drive home, Marilyn & I changed into our PJs and settled down to watch some TV before heading off to bed. It was a good day and we know that Life is Good!
