Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We experienced storms during the night with heavy rain, wind, lightning, and thunder. I didn’t mind the short night of sleep because I had only one tour scheduled today. However it was a tour of Cameron Cave for about 20 young folks from Lewis County.

Naturally it was pouring rain as time approached for the one quarter mile walk to the cave entrance. Good fortune smiled on me as the rain stopped just as we began the walk through the woods and up the hill. The tour went fine and I managed to carry the box full of flashlights down the hill. Just as we left the cave entrance one of the adult chaperones handed me an umbrella asking “Would you take this back for me?” So I balanced the umbrella atop the box of flashlights and made it back to the guide’s lounge.

It was good to get back home by 1:30 where Marilyn fixed a nice lunch and I relaxed for a while.

Jennifer and the grandkids came in after school and we watched a movie, played games, ate popcorn, and I put some books into Jennifer’s Kindle.

Jim, one of our friends at Retama Village asked about pictures from here so I think I’ll add a few photos to this journal entry. Life is Good.
