Friday, April 27… Pulled into the Trailer Village Campground around 10:45. Only a couple hours’ drive up from Camp Verde. The first thing we see are mule deer roaming all around the campground sites. We were told at the registration office not to hook up our sewer line through the day. Apparently the ravens like pecking them full of holes. We got set up, had some lunch and went for a walk to the rim. Elevation is 7,028 feet (2,143 meters).

We approached the rim at “Pipe Creek Vista.” Wow! For never having seen the Grand Canyon before, it is a very impressive site. We walked the trail back towards the Visitors Center and “Mather Point:”
