Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Once again I find myself writing about the past two days instead of simply writing about each day as it happens.

Yesterday was a good day and I started by going up to the cave in order to learn the new light switch locations but they were too busy with wall to wall students. I managed to visit with several of the staff members I had not met before and returned to the RV by lunch time.

Marilyn & I drove to the doctor’s office in Palmyra and then, after her visit was completed, drove to the Garth Woodside Mansion to see our friends, John & Julie. We met several of the guests and Julie’s sister, Kelly. We sure had a nice time as is the normal result of a visit with John & Julie.

Julie fixed a nice dinner and Julie even allowed me to play the part of a Sou Chef working alongside of her. It was fun and dinner was great. We were back home around 8:00 PM and thought aloud that Life is Good!

Today, I drove to the Clinic to have my lab work done and then returned to the Cave Complex to lead a tour at 10:30. They were a nice group of 36 people but the second tour group was really great! There were 27 people from Edwardsville, Illinois and they were wonderful. One of my favorite groups. One of the teachers told me that he has been bringing students to the Cave for 16 years and this was by far the best tour he has ever had. When I announced that the tour was over the students actually wanted it to last longer. For me, that is a real compliment.

Now I am home with my shoes off, thinking how my feet ache. LOL. Life is Good!
