Maintenance scheduled for today meant that we needed to have the RV ready to move into the shop by 7:30 this morning. Normally that would be no problem. However it rained hard during the night continuing into the early hours of daylight. The wind blew hard all night causing the slide toppers to flap and make lots of noise, causing a fitful night of rest. We didn’t get much sleep and were wishing we could simply sleep in this morning but I had to get outdoors to move the car, and disconnect the water and shore power to the RV.
That is when I discovered that the temperature had fallen to a brisk 38 degrees. The 25 mph wind made it feel much colder than that, and the wind whipped rain added to the misery.
Marilyn & I left the RV, ready for the shop, and drove to the nearby McDonalds for some of the great coffee they serve. Marilyn ordered biscuits and gravy while I chose eggs, sausage, hash browns, and a biscuit. The large cups of scalding hot coffee helped to warm us a bit. After breakfast we stayed in the office at Rolling Retreats where it was comfortable. We read our books and relaxed until lunch time which was at Billy Simms BBQ.
Around 3:30 Slade moved us back into a site with water and electric hookups for the night. All of the items on our punch list were completed except for seals around the slides which would have required us to wait for an unknown number of days for parts to arrive.
We may have that job done later. For now, we are ready to move tomorrow and Life is Good!
