We shared our morning coffee as usual, talking about a few issues in our lives, and then started on a couple of projects. I brought the GPS out of my truck and connected it to the computer to update the software and the Maps. That took about 45 minutes and then I did the same for Marilyn’s GPS.
With both of those units all up to date, I started fixing a soup I like to make. We had the door and windows open to enjoy the cool weather. Marilyn changed the linen on the bed and then started a load of laundry.
I put one pound of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage in a skillet to brown, adding onion and garlic when the sausage was nearly done. After allowing the onion and garlic to cook with the sausage for a few minutes I added chicken broth, the potatoes I had chopped and the cabbage which Marilyn had chopped for me. I added seasonings and a tablespoon of sugar and allowed the entire batch to simmer for about 30 minutes. It was mighty fine if I do say so myself.
In the afternoon we drove over to say “So Long” to our friends Bob & Janet. We hate to see them leave tomorrow. They will be missed for sure. We wish them nothing but good weather and safe travel as they work their way back to Missouri. We will be joining them late next month, or at least we’ll be in the same neighborhood. Life is Good!
