Marianne's new best friend, a wallaby at Cataract Gorge, Launceston.

Steve and I realised that most of what we knew about Hobart derived from Chris Tarrant’s breakfast show on Capital FM in the early 90s. Those of you living in London at the time might remember the jingle. Click on the link to refresh your memory.

Moving on from those days, we’ve been told by everyone, both mainland Australian and Tassies, that this island is now the place to come. One of the draws is the subterranean MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). It’s quite an experience. Launceston (Lonnie) also has its own attractions. We particularly liked the art deco architecture and Cataract Gorge and it was there that Marianne saw her first Wallaby.
