We packed up the last minute stuff (pillows, meds, electronics, etc), and were on the road a little after 10am this morning. Trying to dodge the snow and wind, we headed south on I-25, then switched over to Highway 24 East to Limon, and 287 Southeast to Lamar. Our GPS (which is a special one for RV’s) kept trying to wrongly get us to turn on to various dirt roads as we approached Lamar, but we ignored her, and found the RV park (which was on the main highway) easily enough. We came back last year through Lamar, and had the same problems, so we assume this county hasn’t properly geo-coded their businesses. We drove through a few quick snow showers on the way down here, but I got Bill to do all the Mo (our dog) walking, so I’ve stayed warm and dry all day ;). It’s going to get down to the teens tonight, so we’ve turned on the heater in our storage compartments. This will keep our water pump and tanks from freezing. We lost a water pump last year because of the cold. Kerrville,TX (our destination) is going to have a cold snap on Tuesday, but a week from now it’s supposed to get up to 70, so I’ll hang on to that. I think we are aiming for Lubbock tomorrow.
