Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

I was up at 6:00 this morning because I had decided to join the guys breakfast gang which gets together every Friday morning. Marilyn fixed coffee here at the RV so we could have a cup or two together before I left to ride with Jim, off to Danny’s Restaurant. There were more than 30 guys from Retama Village gathered together, resulting in at least a dozen conversations going on at the same time.

When I returned home I began completing chores scheduled for today. I paid several bills on-line and then went outdoors to set an empty propane bottle on the curb to be filled when the truck came by. A short time later I heard the truck stop out front, so I went out and paid the man $31.00 for filling the 40# bottle.

Jim saw the truck at my place and walked over with his 30# bottle to have it filled. He showed me a nice gadget which sticks magnetically to the bottom of the propane tank and measures the amount of propane in the bottle, then transmits the information to your phone via an App. It’s a great way to know when you are about to run out of propane but the two transmitters cost over $70.00. I guess we’ll simply monitor things ourselves for a while longer.

While I was outdoors anyway, I dumped the holding tanks and then called my chore list complete.

Marilyn & I sat together on the patio enjoying another wonderful day. I decided to grill a boneless pork loin marinated with garlic & herbs and that made the day even better. Good music on the speakers and a cold drink added to the makings for a perfect day.

Grilled pork loin, mac & cheese, and sliced peaches made a fine dinner and then we resumed relaxing.

Life is Good!
