I arrived in Chanute at 1:40 on Tuesday, Jan. 2. I remembered all the fellows who'd be working on my rig and especially Boo (the name he prefers to be called by his friends and wanted me to call him that). He'd installed my flat screen TV seven years ago and had to create a space where it'd fit. He remembered it well.

There's work to be done..and investigating too, so I don't/won't know what all can be accomplished until we know the stuff we don't yet know about. It's ten years old now and needs a thorough physical. I trust these fellows to do it right.

In the meantime, I'm staying in a motel less than a mile down the road. At $49/night, the Knights Inn is a remarkably good value. Most important, it is clean. Plus, it also comes with nice flat screen, directv, microwave, refri., desk with USB connections, sparkling and elaborately designed tub/shower, strong free WiF and a 'breakfast' room with coffee, make-them-yourself waffles, bagels, sweet rolls, 3 types of dry cereal and tables to sit on. In today's overpriced world, I find it a bargain. Especially since I hate motels. It certainly has had a makeover since I stayed next door at Super 8 in '13. The manager grows on you after a couple of days.

Today, the temp is going to be above freezing! That's exciting. And on Wednesday, they predict 55 degrees! I may go swimming! I also hope my rig is done by then. I saw my new carpeting yesterday and it looked really sharp. No work on it until Monday, so I'll head up there then to see what's what.

I am sending TWO updates with this notice. My exciting days in Tulsa...and now this one.
