end of a great Christmas Day 2017

Merry Christmas every one from Neko Harbour on the main continent of antarctica, another early morning walking the decks the sun is shining on the mountains covered with very deep snow, this harbour is surrounded by glacier where large chucks of ice breaking off and falling into the sea. After breakfast the ship pulls in to our hovering point and again we do not anchor with all the icebergs around us. At this point we are only 30 miles from the Weddell sea across the snow covered mountains, this was one of the bays where whaling ship would come into and is one of the rare places where you can come a shore on the Antarctic Peninsula. Today we get to go off the ship 2 times one to do the landing and the other to cruise the harbour. A great way to spend Christmas Day, every one is back on board at 6:00 PM and to day we do another great Christmas buffet with turkey,Duck, Goose, Salmon and dried cod fish, with king crab legs, lots of great sea foods, and we alway have a large selection great cheeses. The waiter in my section now brings me a large beer when he sees me come in, LOL Was one of the best Christmas days I have had in a long time. Then we cruise the area going into a couple channels before heading to our next landing site tomorrow. A very great Day have lots of pictures to post once I get better internet.
