In spite of the good news yesterday, we slept poorly and awakened before 3:00 AM, planning to leave for the drive to St Louis at 5:00.
Julie was ahead of us and had fresh brewed coffee waiting for us when we went downstairs a few minutes before 5:00. She also had prepared a wonderful breakfast “to go” for us to take along. This breakfast for each of us consisted of a large ham, egg, and cheese burrito, a cup of fresh fruit (think strawberries, bananas, oranges, several types of seedless grapes, blueberries, grapefruit and blackberries) all cut up and placed in a container, yogurt, biscotti, and granola bars. It was awesome and what can you say to friends who do these kind things for you? Marilyn & I are blessed by exactly these type of friends who are there for us. You all know who you are so I won’t even attempt to name names here. We are humbled by these good people who bless us every day.
Our flights to Houston and on to Harlingen were on time and Bob was waiting for us when we arrived in Harlingen. We drove home to Retama Village in rain and cool weather.
Marilyn & I were both beyond exhaustion and were in bed shortly after 8:00 PM. Life is Good!
