First week step count 62,500

Today is Saturday 2nd of December and I am writing the log in unashamed luxury at the Belmont Hotel, the only accommodation in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Already have been down the the pool as well as the falls.

I am running out of adjectives, similes, words that express awe, but it is awesome in its power and size.

Had an interesting journey here as we left Mutum we entered a storm, which nearly left us cut off from civilisation, however getting through we arrived at Cuibia only to have further storms which continued until we got up at 04:30 to catch our flight. Strangely our guide to the airport said he had been to Cambridge to learn to speak English back in 1997. I asked what do you remember of the town and his comment was he went to Burger King there twice a month to eat meet as his host family were hippy vegetarians!!!!, small world.

Tonight we have booked an a la carte resturant over looking the falls and at 10:30 onto a full moon walk around the falls, should be magical, if not cloudy and dark.
