This was the best part of the bike ride!

Neskowin on a beautiful day!

Perhaps an even better view!

The best view of all: our boys get engaged in view of...

Back in Oregon! In the words of our 6-year-old son, Christopher, "Ahh, it's good to be at the beach!" Our friends planned a coastal biking trip, complete with beautiful views, big hills, and no shoulders. My poor bike from Goodwill never stood a chance. Instead, I more than made do by hitting a community yoga class in Lincoln City and soaking up some sun at the glorious beaches. Great times with great people topped off our days.

For many years we owned a condo in Neskowin and called it home. This tiny town has everything you need, including a grocery store (now a wine bar as well) and the Hawk Creek Cafe and restaurant. The residents actively fought the notion of a gas station years ago to keep that tiny town feel. The governor owned a house within view of our condo and his family frequented the cafe. Little did we know that during a family vacation later in August (2016), Kyle would propose to Christopher in view of Proposal Rock. The boys became engaged, and Neskowin became that much more special to us all.
