Just some travel thoughts:
We got a great price rate of $750 Cdn return from Vancouver to Delhi on China Eastern Airlines. We did have some booking problems when they changed our original flight to the next day and we would have missed our connections,so we re-scheduled for the previous day. We did have to go to the Vancouver office to get refunds on the extra legroom for Jud that I paid for and that was a hassle, not totally fixed up. Since we were saving approximately $700 x 3 people = $2100 we guess it was still worth it.
The leg between Shanghai and Delhi had problems for the boys with only 2 bottles of wine on board for 200 passengers, and they only got one beer each for the 71/2 hours. First world problems, right?
The plane was very cold on both legs so I was glad to have my down coat with me. Jud could see his breath where he was sitting on the first leg.
We are amazed that the magical universe allowed us to arrive: with Margie flying in from Edmonton to house/cat sit; with the car breaking down 5 days before we left and was fixed; with the truck breaking down 4 days before we left and was fixed; with one of my front teeth breaking off at the root the day before we left and the dentist able to create a retainer in one day with a fake tooth for 'fashion' not for eating; and with Jud's life being so busy that he began packing only one hour before we left. We are going to enjoy this trip!!! Especially since I have a root extraction waiting for me upon our return!
