We had that extra hour to sleep last night so we stayed up later until there was no more of that extra time remaining. Don’t you wish they would simply leave the time alone with no more of that spring forward or fall back stuff?
In any case I had the coffee started when Marilyn joined me in the early morning darkness. Once the coffee was finished off we made ourselves ready for church. We had a few moments before Mike & Marian arrived to pick us up and we noticed Richard & Jane sitting outdoors so we wandered across the street to chat with them for a few minutes.
Mike & Marian drove up and we joined them for the drive to Mass. It was good to Fr. Roy again as he always makes the Mass interesting. We enjoyed the Mass and then drove off to the Diaz Diner as planned but the line waiting to get inside was too long so we left and Mike took us to a place called “Danny’s”. The food here was just as good as we have experienced at Diaz Diner and the huevos rancheros were great!
After we said so long to our friends back at our place, Marilyn & I called our son-in-law to wish him a Happy Birthday. Unfortunately he was on his way back home but hadn’t arrived yet so we had the fun of chatting with our grandkids. Rats! We sure miss them!!
Marilyn & I took the car and drove to Walmart where I picked up the new sewer hose I needed to complete our hookups for the RV, and then we drove to HEB, which is our favorite grocery store. We shopped for a while and headed home to unload the groceries.
It was really hot with a temperature reaching into the nineties, so we mainly relaxed in the afternoon. Tomorrow we’ll get started on the things we need to get done in order to be all settled. So that’s the way our first day back went.
Life is Good!
