Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Today was the milestone I have been waiting for in my journey through the fight with Cancer. Bob and Brenda, Radiation Therapists at the James E. Cary Cancer Center, greeted me with smiles this morning, and not long after that my final treatment was completed. It seems strange that I felt a bit sad to say “So Long” to these good people. However they had guided me through the daily process of treatments for prostate cancer.

Now we are in the final stages of being ready for the road. I would struggle to relate to you how much we are looking forward to the freedom we feel when we are back at our home in Texas for the winter.

It will be fun traveling with Bob & Janet and Denny & Jackie. These are good friends who waited for us so that they could travel with us and be there for us in case we have any problems. Oh, they will harass us without mercy about anything they can, but we know what is in their hearts. I guarantee that I will give back on the harassment in equal measure given the opportunity. LOL

This has been a fine summer and we have enjoyed being here in Hannibal. All of the good folks at the Cave Complex have been wonderful to work with and it has been a pleasure to be able to see the ball games my Grandson Colby and Granddaughter Lauren played in. Just having Jennifer, Steve, Lauren and Colby around has given us great joy.

We have really enjoyed being around family and friends too, but when the weather gets cold like today, we are ready to move south.

Life is Good!
