|The trip did not start off very well. We were on the train headed to the San Francisco Airport when Rich realized that he had left his passport at home. So, I continued on to the airport with all the luggage and Rich headed home. Rich does not have a cell phone, so I had no way to communicate with him. The plane was fully boarded and the staff were about to give his seat to someone else. I was begging them to give Rich a few more minutes when he came running onto the plane, all sweaty and tired. The steward gave him a couple of alcoholic drinks and a grilled cheese sandwich and then he went to sleep. We were traveling first-class, so the reclining chairs, comforters and pillows were pretty great.
