Leshan - Sep 29, 2005 - Leshan, Sichuan, China

Got up again at 5am, stupid time, something I will not miss when we get off the backdoor route to Chengdu. Got on the bus and we departed for Leshan at about 6am although once we had arsed about trying to pick up this one student for an hour or so it was 9am, even turned round and drove back to Kangding 2 times ruddy farce.

About halfway we got stuck in a monster jam sue to some landslide, then we had to endure 2 more hours on the crapest roads in China, worst then anything up on the backdoor and this was meant to be the good highway. Before we headed on that road, we stopped for lunch hit the bog, oh my gosh, this one was a definite hold your breath jobby, do your business and get the hell out of there before you pass out.

Got to Leshan and booked ourselves into this posh hotel for the night, as we deserved it after some heavy traveling and crap hotels during the week, we even had a tele and our own bathroom! We then hit the grub trail and found dome sorted old girl who dished up some sweet, Chilli pork, twice cooked pork and sweet and sour Eggplant, she even started dumping loads of free dishes on the table, I was loving it. Must mention Sichuan food is lush they love the chilli, which is all good for me.

Well headed back to the hotel (Sorry to return to my bowel movements again but they are playing a big part in this trip), and I felt the urge the first time for 5 days, so I hit the western bog, but as you can imagine 5 days results in a lot of waste, the tolilet couldn't handle it AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH. So I had to manually try and get it down, I eventually did but the water level was stuck real high. I returned to the room laughing and explained to Dongi what had just occurred and he presumed I had used my hand the cheeky bugger, but as I was explaining, you heard this great flushing noise, as the rest of the water and pressure gave way and the monster disappeared, we both cracked up, felt like a new man mind you.
