We spent one night in Kiptopeke State Park. It is a nice area, but it is quite expensive and we probably won't stay here again. For one night in was $51.50. Virginia charges a $5.00 fee for the first night's stay in a state park. We had water and electricity, but no sewer hook-up. The park is pretty much a field. There is a nice beach and fishing pier, but there is a fee to fish as well. There is a breakwater of concrete ships that is very interesting.
While we were there we geocached and that took us on some of the walking trails. We would have liked to be able to walk more, but the mosquitoes were atrocious! If you stopped moving at all, they would eat you alive.
We went into Cape Charles for dinner at Sting Rays. It was very good and quite a popular spot. When we got back we drove over to the pier to watch the sunset. It was very beautiful.
Our next stop will be First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. We will be popping into town for about a week to visit family and friends. After that we will be heading to our cabin in the mountains.
