We worked a couple of days this week, had the pastor & his wife over for a visit & dinner one afternoon, & started packing up our outdoor stuff.

This morning we headed up to Creede for their annual Cruisin' the Canyon Car Show. It was much smaller than the Early Iron Car Show in Alamosa but the quality of the cars was as good & it was really fun to see all the cars lined up on Main Street in the historic town. After we checked out all the cars, we did the Bachelor Loop in the reverse direction than we normally drive. We thought we'd see the best colors from the lower end but ended up driving the whole loop because the colors got better the further we drove. Last year we enjoyed the colors up Bishop Creek in California - this year Colorado. The colors made the normally great views even better!

Ending up back in Creede we headed for the Tommyknocker Tavern for lunch. They were packed, of course, with the car show in town, but we were able to get a couple of seats at the bar. Thought we might have a sandwich but couldn't resist their hot wings & pulled pork nachos again. Ha! It was the perfect end to our last visit to Creede for the year.

We still have a few days left before we head to New Mexico, Texas & Louisiana, so ... more later...
