Fort Collins KOA Campsite

August 17 – Travel from Cairo, NE to Fort Collins, CO

We got up before the sun and headed west from the Deardorff’s Ranch in Cairo (sounds like Karo), NE to visit our friend’s, Steve and Lucy Caldwell in Fort Collins, Colorado. Steve and I were in high school band together.

Having viewed hundreds of miles of corn and soybeans in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska, we can project that the corn and soybean crops this year will be plentiful. The green went on and on. : )

In our travels today, we started out at a little less than 2,000 feet in elevation in Nebraska and climbed to 5,800 feet near Cheyenne before descending into Fort Collins. At 65 MPH, our mileage was 13 MPG.

We had a delicious dinner of grilled salmon and filet mignon with roasted peppers.
