|Aug 16th – Aug 18th
This has been a busy couple of days. Wed (16th) I had the leak in the roof of the RV fixed and tire minders added to the RV tires. It turned into an all-day event. I stayed at Ray Roberts State Park Wed and Thurs nights (17th). All day Thurs was spend running errors taking care of some business and getting ready to pull out today (Friday).
When I was doing my research for full time RVing, I saw where some followed a 2/2/2 rule. Travel no more than 200 miles a day, stop every 2 hours and spend 2 nights. I’m finding this to be a very good rule to follow especially since I’m traveling by myself. I have to do everything inside and outside the RV by myself. I was up at 7 this morning, by the time I was dressed for the day, ate breakfast, unhooked the RV from the campsite, hooked up the tow car, secured everything inside the RV for travel it was 10 when I pulled out of the state park. It was 5 this evening by the time I pulled into the RV park in Texarkana and finished setting up both inside and outside. I ended up driving 205 miles and only stopped 1 time to eat lunch.
I had some problems getting the tow vehicle hooked up this morning so it took a little longer to get off. I’m totally wiped out tonight and so glad I will be here 2 nights instead of having to pull out again in the morning. I will play tourist tomorrow and see what is around here.
