Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

For some reason, I didn’t sleep well last night. Tossing & turning, I finally climbed out of bed before midnight and went to the living room where I began working on my next book. It was nearly 2:00 when I finally shut down the computer and returned to the bed.

Even after that, I slept fitfully and had the top sheet all twisted up when we decided to get up this morning. I remember hearing it raining during the night and thinking that we sure needed that.

Marilyn fixed coffee and we took it out to the screened room while the outdoor temperature was cool enough to spend time out there.

I didn’t feel like doing much this morning but had a list of chores I needed to complete, so I started by draining some water from the lawn chairs left outdoors last night. I dumped the holding tanks and while rinsing them, I searched out the basement storage area for the sunscreen we use for the large picture window at the rear of our RV. As soon as I finished the dumping chore I installed the sunscreen in the hopes that it will help keep the RV cooler.

In spite of the very hot weather, we rarely have to use the second AC unit. We run the living room AC unit during the daytime and use the bedroom AC unit at night. Our RV is well insulated and a small fan helps us to keep things nice and comfortable.

I made the bed completely while Marilyn fixed a nice breakfast and then helped Marilyn shuck some freshly picked sweet corn. Only one chore left to do, so I carried trash to the dumpster, noticing that the temperature outdoors was rising rapidly.

Marilyn took an electric fan, her book, and a glass of ice water as she headed out to the screen room to read for as long as she could handle the temperature and humidity.

It’s a good day to relax and I may get a nap. Life is Good!
