Nick and Sue's South American Adventure travel blog

We didn't have an organised tour until 8.30 in the morning. In the Fazenda we saw two very friendly Pigs (correct name to follow). We went for a wander to see what we could see and were treated to seeing 2 Agoutis (large rodents) and a family of 5 Chestnut Earred Aracais who were going in and out of their nest. When we went back with the group later they had moved.

In the Fazenda before we left for our walk we saw "new" wildlife of Shiny Cowbird, Bay Winged Cow bird, white eyed parakeets and a Palm Tanager.

On our walk around the farm we saw "new" wildlife of:

White Rumped Mongeta

Rufus Tailed Jacanas

Golden Collared Macars

Helmeted Manekin (rare)

Cicada Beetles

Narrow Billed Woodcreeper

Giant Cowbird
