Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

This is a difficult journal entry to write. It was an emotional day for us as we drove to Quincy to visit one of my cousins who has cancer and is being moved from the hospital to hospice care at home beginning tomorrow. There were hugs, tears, and conversation, sometimes serious and sometimes simply quiet storytelling recalling memories from family gatherings in the past.

It was very difficult to say goodbye without crying. Some of you dear readers who are RV friends have met my cousin and his wife. To say that they are outstanding people is an understatement, and we love them so much.

I confess that I found tears leaking from my eyes for much of the remainder of the day today.

Jennifer had texted us to let us know that she had taken the kids to a fun place in Quincy and invited us to drop by to watch the kids skating. We drove there after leaving the hospital and visited with our daughter while watching the kids having fun.

Marilyn & I had not taken time to eat anything yet today so we stopped for some good Chinese food on the way back to Hannibal.

I must tell you that I worked with Kindle Digital Publishing and was able to lower the price of each of my printed books by at least $1.00 per copy. Also I want to mention that my latest book in the Full-Time RV Living series, Book 3, is now available in print from Amazon.com. I now have five books published and available in both formats, as an e-book and in print. Now I may begin my next book project.

Before I wrap up this journal entry I want to thank all of you who have been praying for my family members who suffer from cancer. Like I mentioned to my cousin today, we know God hears our prayers but sometimes HE has a better plan.

Life is Good!
