Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Shortly after the usual morning coffee was finished, I headed up to the Gift Shop where the ticket counter is located, to lead a tour of Cameron Cave scheduled to begin at 10:00.

We only had seven people which included a family of five and another couple, all very fine folks who enjoyed the tour a lot.

In spite of a sore back, I felt better than I did yesterday and enjoyed the tour along with the paying customers.

Marilyn had thawed a couple of pork steaks and I put those on the grill around noon. She fixed the side dishes and we had a nice lunch. We had decided to try having a Happy Hour at 4:00 in spite of the temperature in the low 90 degree range and nearly 100% humidity with no breeze at all.

Denny & Jackie joined us and we sat together sweating, talking, laughing, and sweating. Oh, did I mention sweating?

Around 6:00 we broke up the happy band of warriors and went inside to the cool comfort of air conditioning.

Tomorrow our daughter, Jennifer, will celebrate her birthday. Hopefully, she will come in to spend some time with us. Later in the day we will take Denny & Jackie and drive over to Palmyra where John & Julie will join us for dinner at “El Nopal” Mexican restaurant.

I’ll write about that tomorrow. For now, I’ll just remind you that Life is Good!
