Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We try to spoil the grandkids when we get a chance so last night when they stayed overnight with us, we allowed them to eat whatever they wanted and as much as they wanted. Then Marilyn popped some popcorn to share when we watched a DVD movie.

It was around 10:30 when the grandkids finally dropped off to sleep. They slept until nearly 8:00 in the morning so Marilyn & I tried not to wake them. I took a shower while Marilyn dressed, and by that time the grandkids were awake, talking and giggling.

Marilyn tried to fix breakfast for all of us and drink her coffee at the same time. The “Eggs in a Bag” omelet was the choice for breakfast and I managed to get two cups of coffee, straighten the kitchen, carry trash to the dumpster, and make the bed, in an effort to help out.

It was around 11:00 when we left for the drive to meet Jennifer at an agreed upon place. The grandkids were good while here and I’m sure they will be staying again before long.

Marilyn & I returned to the RV to pick up our friends, Denny & Jackie, but decided to accept Denny’s offer to drive and we were soon on our way to the historic district in downtown Hannibal.

We started by having lunch at the Hannibal Brewery and then walked the historic district and to the waterfront. Around 4:00 in the afternoon, we joined Denny & Jackie along with Don & Sue for a Happy Hour at the winery here in Cave Hollow. After much visiting and getting to know one another better, we returned home for a quiet evening in front of the TV.

Denny & Jackie borrowed several DVD movies from us so I expect that they are spending the evening in a similar manner as us.
