Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

It was a fun but busy day for us today.

We had time for coffee and some breakfast before I drove to the gift shop to lead tour of Mark Twain Cave. Both of the tours were fun and enjoyable, with very good groups of people.

I returned to the RV around 12:30 and sat relaxing while munching on a sandwich Marilyn prepared for me. I then changed clothes and waited for Jennifer and the grandkids to arrive.

It was nearly 3:00 when they arrived and we enjoyed a nice visit with them. The only problem is that our time was too short because we had plans to take Denny & Jackie sightseeing around Hannibal and then have dinner together at Fiddlesticks.

We picked up our friends at 4:30 and drove off to Lover’s Leap. After a few moments spent looking at the beautiful scenery, we sought the comfort of the air conditioning in the car and drove through the historic district in Hannibal, and then pointed out the Molly Brown birthplace before heading west to the restaurant.

We all enjoyed a very tasty meal punctuated by easy, comfortable conversations and laughter. We lingered after the meal for a bit and then drove off to show our friends the Garth Mansion, owned by our friends, John & Julie. We knew our friends were busy so we didn’t stop in but simply drove around and allowed Jackie to take a few pictures.

We returned to the Campground, took a short break, and then walked over to Denny & Jackie’s Site to continue the visit.

It was a very nice day, filled with fun and merriment, in the company of family and friends.

Life is Good!
