Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

I was working today but my tour wouldn’t leave until 11:30 so I had plenty of time to get ready. I enjoy our coffee time and it is even better when Marilyn fixes some breakfast which she did this morning.

Marilyn dropped me off at the gift shop and then went shopping for a few needed items. Colby has wanted me to help him construct the two rockets we had given him for Christmas so Marilyn picked up some batteries and some glue. I think we have everything else needed to complete that project.

At the cave here we have had the pleasure of enjoying several of the “Tom & Becky” contest winners grow up and become fine tour guides for the Mark Twain Cave. Today there were several of the former Becky’s who became tour guides, leading tours while dressed in their “Becky” costumes. I’m sure they were very welcome and did a great job. I’ll bet the nice folks who were on my tour were disappointed when they discovered their tour was being guided by a rickety old man. They all seemed to enjoy it though.

When my tour was finished I was told that fresh hot pizza was waiting for the guides, so I grabbed two slices of pizza and headed home. I gave one slice of pizza to Marilyn and ate the other before changing clothes.

I worked steadily on my book project and finished editing Chapter Eight. Now I have only four chapters to go to have it ready for publication.

Steve & Jennifer wanted to go shopping over in Quincy, Illinois so the grandkids are staying overnight with us tonight.

Marilyn popped popcorn and we have several DVD movies for the kids to choose from.
