The Gardens at The Grotto

Today we explored Portland, Oregon.

Washington Park has a beautiful International Rose Test Garden. It consists of several tiers of roses of every variety and color. Not only are they beautiful, all the bushes were in excellent condition.

Also at Washington Park is a Japanese Garden. I love these kinds of gardens for their simple, clean beauty.

After spending a few hours at Washington Park, we took a short ride on the Portland Aerial Tram. You get a good view of Portland's skyline from here.

Our last stop was to The Grotto - National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother. It contains a beautiful grotto which contains the altar where a priest can hold mass. An elevator carries you up over 100 feet to gardens above. Very interesting place.
