Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We sure hated to see our friends, Mike & Sandy, leave this morning. It really was so nice of them to come here to Hannibal to visit us. We had a great time showing them around and explaining some of the history associated with Hannibal, Missouri.

They had wanted to meet Jennifer before they left and we knew Jennifer was on her way to our house, so I drove up to the Gift Shop to meet Jennifer, while Mike was hooking up the car to his beautiful Class A motorhome.

That strategy worked just fine as Jennifer drove in just as Mike had finished with his car. Jennifer, the Grandkids, and I spent a few minutes chatting with Mike & sandy before saying so long to our friends.

Jennifer and the two grandkids planned to accompany me on a tour of Cameron Cave but Colby was running as we reached the cave entrance and slipped on loose gravel, running into a fence and suffering numerous scratches. Jennifer then took Colby back to our place for some medical attention while Lauren stayed with me for the tour.

We all had a good time on the tour and several youngsters said they liked the Cameron Cave better than Mark Twain cave.

After returning home I played catch with Colby and showed him a few things about pitching and hitting. Tomorrow I want to see which of his eyes is the focus eye and then suggest whether he should bat right handed or left handed and explain why.

The family left around 3:30, heading home. Now Marilyn and I are relaxing for a bit. It seems that we are extremely busy and we try to relax when we get a chance to grab a few minutes.
