Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Marilyn fixed the coffee while I read e-mails and messages, extended the awning, and set up lawn chairs so we could sit outdoors with our morning coffee.

We watched the birds and a squirrel and then heard the power mower approaching. The young man who keeps the campground nicely groomed rode up and asked us if we were going to be leaving for the day, suggesting that he would wait until we were gone before mowing around our area. We thanked him and suggested that he simply go ahead and mow as we assured him that we would not be bothered by the noise.

A bit later, after the coffee was finished off, the guy from “Huse Electronics” arrived to do a Site Survey for us as we have been interested in getting Satellite TV. We decided to go with the “Pathfinder” antenna and the “Top 120 Plus” package which would be installed this afternoon. They gave us a bunch of extra channels for three months and HBO for a year, free of charge. I marked on my calendar the dates to call DISH to cancel this Freebie stuff, lest I be charged an extra fee for service we seldom use.

Marilyn left to go pick up the grandkids, who were spending time with us, and I drove up to the parking lot to wait for our friends, Mike & Sandy, to arrive.

I called these friends to see where they were and they were just coming in to the south end of Hannibal. That was perfect so I gave them step by step directions to take a shortcut and avoid the downtown area all together as they drove to the Mark Twain Cave complex.

I stayed on the phone with our friends until they turned on to Cave Hollow Drive and I had them in sight. It was sure nice to see these wonderful people again.

Jennifer and the grands joined Marilyn & I for pizza and games, once the DISH installer left.

It was a good day and we now have Satellite TV.

Life is Good!
