The Travelling Sparkplug travel blog

..... these are the times of our lives.

Well we made it! Now to top off the wonderful flight, we were met at the arrival gate by a Marina Bay Sands 'travelling concierge'. I mentioned we were coming here for our 35th anniversary and they gave us complimentary limousine transfer. We were taken directly to the immigration point and then once through there, we were directed to the baggage carousel and no sooner had we collected our bags; we were ushered to the exit point.

The limousine was waiting and we were handed over to Tony, who gave us a running commentary on the route to the hotel. Wonderful way to arrive.

Once at the hotel we were met by Veronica, who took us up to our room and checked us in. Unbelievable ... the fun way getting to the hotel and start our Singapore Fling. Flawless execution and we arrived at the Marina Bay Sands.

First off we took a quick orientation tour of the hotel and Gardens by the Bay. What a spectacular attraction. We walked through the twilight and the lights started to illuminate the paths and the Flower Towers. Walking around the gardens, we found the OCBC Skywalk and thought we would try that out ... but unfortunately, there was a threat of lighting and thunderstorm so it was closed .... oh well, always tomorrow. We walked down to the Satay by the Bay which is some open air food stalls and the smells were incredible.

We (I) was ready to try some stuff; but then noticed the english of what they were:

Pickled Instestines, Pig Totters .. well you can imagine the rest. Best we don't and we started back to the hotel so we could have a look at the club level ... but we were out too long and it was closed for the evening. Always tomorrow, but that is another story and we will have breakfast.

Now to relax and recharge our batteries for a big couple of days.
