|WALPEUP (pronounced wol'pee'UP)
An overnight stop at the Wayside stop located on the corner of Creagan Street ( Mallee Hwy) and Murphy Rd.
Indecision over whether to stay or not, led to a flat battery.Forgot to change the fridge from DC to AC, didn't notice for about 4 hrs. Lesson learned.
The wayside stop contains a covered barbecue area as well as well maintained play equipment and lawn. Powered sites at $10 per couple & hot showers for a small fee is good value.
Within 100 metres of the wayside stop is Shubert's Walk, a nature walk displaying many native trees and shrubs in their natural setting.
The Dryland Gardens are located on the corner of Glen and Creagan streets and display many native trees and shrubs from around the local region and Australia.
Next stop Buronga Riverside Caravan Park ( cannot resist staying there, best stop we have had, been there several times)
