Food stall at the markets

A beer break

A little Joan Miro for home perhaps

Drummers at the Modernista festival

Today, Saturday, we board our ship, our home for the next 28 days. The ship is the Royal Princess if you want to check her out on the web. We've had a great time in Barcelona so far and are looking forward to a few more days in Sitges and Barcelona following our time aboard ship.

We have done a lot of exploring on foot in Barcelona, approx 20 km per day, plus getting around on the metro. During our wandering we've visited Fundacio Joan Miro, Fundacio Antoni Tapies, paid a quick visit to the Gothic quarter (but more on that later as well be staying there when we return) and explored La Rambla and the markets. We also tried to get in to Sagrada Famila but for some reason it closed early on Friday and does not open again until Monday. Not to worry, we'll get there when we return.

The weather has been great so far, mid 20s in Barcelona. There is a Modernista festival happening at the moment and over this weekend it takes up 4 blocks of the street next to our hotel and so we spent a good few hours there last night enjoying the atmosphere (and the food and drinks).

Looking forward to boarding our ship and finally being able to fully unpack. Unfortunately though we probably won't have much internet access over the next 4 weeks but we'll post news whenever we can.

Love to you all, Graeme and Ron
