Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

In spite of the fact that Marilyn had to leave before 7:00 this morning, we were up in plenty of time to share our morning coffee together.

Our granddaughter, Lauren, had been running a fever so was not attending school today and her grandma Mimi was staying with her while her Mom went to work.

Once Marilyn left, I took care of the usual morning chores and then spent some time doing research for a talk I am giving Thursday evening, on the subject of Jesse James, the famous outlaw. I managed to gather some information before I had to get ready to go off to lead tours of the Mark Twain Cave.

My first tour was for a group of 31 people, mostly students from Carthage, Illinois. They were a good group of kids and we had a nice time. The second tour was for “ticket holders” who also enjoyed the tour.

I was finished by 1:00 PM and walked up to the restaurant on the property where I ordered a hamburger to go. It was nice to sit down and enjoy my burger in front of the TV while I waited for Marilyn to get back home.

Shortly after Marilyn arrived back at our RV the rain stopped but the cool temperature remained so we turned the fireplace on and that felt nice.

Marilyn & I both have medical appointments to take care of tomorrow, including fasting after midnight tonight. That makes me wonder, does anyone stay up so that they can eat, drink, and be merry until midnight? I’m just wondering.

No matter dear friends because we know that Life is Good!
