Happy Mother’s Day! Today is absolutely gorgeous with bright sunshine, mild breeze and in the mid 70’s. We feel like we are living on a farm with the cows, silos, wheat fields….is really very pleasant.
Very lazy day. I made Bob pancakes for breakfast and in trade he did the laundry. I reorganized our storage, washed floors and otherwise cleaned up the rig. At about noon, the wind really picked up to the point we had to take down the awning. Read, had leftovers for lunch and took a walk down the country road along a nice stream. I had some volunteer work to do and Bob took a nap.
Just a few comments about our trip planning. Since we have traveled to so much of the country previously, we are now selectively visiting places that are not as common or are new. We didn’t go to Washington DC (could not get tickets to the African American Museum) because camping is NE of town and an effort to get into the city. On the other hand, Williamsburg and Jamestown were a stone’s throw away but we have visited re-enactments etc. several times. We still have not seen all that we have wanted in certain areas but we can come back!
Tonight I made Italian meatloaf which is one of our favorites but a bit of a production with all sorts of ingredients. Had plenty of time so it was worthwhile. Will sauté some Yukon gold potatoes as a side with a green salad. 2015 Erath Pinot.
